Cuervoton
Code and Theory was tasked with creating an online ‘buzz’ destination for promoting a style of Latin music called Reggaeton. The idea was to associate Jose Cuervo as a lifestyle product with the genre of music. The goal of the site, Cuervoton, was to generate attention and to engage users in learning more about the music and associated contests sponsored by Jose Cuervo.
In order to create a dynamic experience interesting to users, Code and Theory utilized Flash 8 capabilities to push the boundaries of rich dynamic media on the site. At the time, Flash 8 was still in its early release, but the benefits of the visual capabilities warranted the experimentation.
The result was a visual experience that was new to most website users. The Flash 8 technology-enabled Code and Theory to include visual effects such as alpha channeled video. The result had a strong impact; the audience was immersed in a viral sense of exposure. The site received accolades including Creativity’s Ad Critic, One Show and Clio’s shortlist.
