As Fast Company shared, “Entries are judged on the key ingredients of innovation: functionality, originality, beauty, sustainability, user insight, cultural impact, and business impact.

“The Year in Preview campaign solved a real problem for people, and that’s what makes the YETI brand earn its cult-like following,” shared Code and Theory’s Co- Chief Creative Officer Stephen Clements. “It was a pleasure to partner with YETI to strategize, design and build the experience that now is being honored with this prestigious award.”

For Year in Preview, YETI set out with a simple mission — to create a compelling and efficient way for people to get the best outdoor moments on their calendar so they could hit 2023 running. YETI knew that many people want to live the wild lifestyle, but simply don’t know where to start. Year in Preview threaded that needle — a custom built and designed digital experience that’s accessible and easy to use for YETI loyalists and new outdoor enthusiasts too. ** one of YETI’s brand pillars is making the wild more accessible to everyone

By simply answering a few short questions, the Year in Preview tool auto-generates a 2023 calendar filled with more than 130 seasonal, outdoor events and activities curated just for your preferences. In addition to the itinerary, Year in Preview delivers a personalized video compiling the array of dynamic events you’ve customized for your year ahead, helping you visualize what’s to come. Working in partnership with YETI, Code and Theory engineered the experience to dynamically render 635+ videos from code, so that every possible combination of events were generated with the click of a button.

YETI and Code and Theory most recently earned a Webby award and four Indigo Awards for the Year in Preview experience.

FIREWATCH Web Experience

Additionally, Code and Theory earned Fast Company honors for “Design Company of the Year” and in the in the “Experimental” category for its work on FIREWATCH, a web3-enabled NFT project designed to fund wildfire prevention in California.

In response to the catastrophic California wildfires that burned over 4 million acres in 2020 and 2021 alone — marking the highest recorded number in history — Code and Theory built and launched FIREWATCH.

Since launching in September 2022, FIREWATCH has safeguarded 10K square miles of land vulnerable to wildfire across California. The work earned recognition from Forbes, Adweek, The Drum, NFT Evening, and honors in The Webby Awards and The One Show.
