Qualcomm thrived as a behind-the-scenes tech powerhouse for decades, enabling groundbreaking innovations for giants like Apple and Samsung. But as the tech landscape has rapidly shifted, Qualcomm faced a new challenge: staying relevant in a world increasingly defined by AI and IoT.
Qualcomm set out to transform its business and brand to seize this moment, moving from a silent enabler to a tech pioneer. They partnered with Code and Theory to navigate, craft and execute their transformation for B2B to B2D(developer), starting with reimagining Qualcomm's website into a cutting-edge hub for developers driving AI and IoT innovation.
Our ongoing partnership has ignited a movement among developers worldwide, with Qualcomm empowering the innovators shaping the next generation of technology.
Impact
- +540% Developer visits
- +425% Visits with software download
- +228% Engaged users
- +26% Prospects (Unique visitors, Subscribers, Followers)
From powerhouse to platform
Qualcomm needed to speak to a new audience: developers. The only problem is that developers are allergic to marketing.
Luckily, we speak developer (50% of our team are engineers).
Developers skip marketing jargon and go straight to specs. Websites with slick imagery, headlines, and sprawling visual design create blockers for developers to find the desired technical information. To attract them, we helped Qualcomm transform its brand, starting with its website from a corporate brochure into a high-functioning, developer-focused hub that served as the go-to resource for building the future of AI and IoT.

Intelligent. Immediate. Interactive.
Our north star became the phrase “Developer First.”
Three pillars emerged to support our Developer First strategy. Make every touchpoint as intelligent as the most intelligent developer. Make tools and utilities persistent and immediate. Push beyond brochureware into more interactive comparison and product education.

Ditching silos for consolidated hubs
Developers don’t shop in silos—they think big picture. So we ditched stand-alone pages and built consolidated hubs, putting everything they need—specs, compatibility, kits, updates—in one place.
What is a chip without its documentation?
The result? A +228% increase in user engagement (registering for an account, downloading software, or engaging with product documentation).

Code and Theory advanced Qualcomm’s AI tech interface even farther than what was asked, making a 3D movable version of our technology solution — the kit actually came to life for our developers.
